General Information

Scope

  1. Furnish and install Fabric-Walls as required by the Contract Documents.
  2. Related work specified elsewhere
  3. Preparation of smooth, flat and plum substrate.
  4. Architectural woodwork, masonry, doors and frames, hardware, gypsum drywall, plastering, ceilings, wall covering, painting and electrical work.

Fire Standards

  1. The acoustical or tackable wall treatment system shall have Fire Classification of class 0-25 when tested in accordance with ASTM E-84.

Installer Qualifications

  1. The installation work of this Section shall be performed by an authorized dealer, licensed by the manufacturer, and shall be certified as such.
  2. Installation dealer shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in the installation of track systems for stretching fabric.

Quality Assurance

  1. The fabric shall be stretched tautly over the subsurface and Fabric-Walls without the use of glue.
  2. The fabric border shall be inserted completely into the clamping inlet jaws of the Fabric-Walls track creating a clean crisp appearance devoid of raw edges or loose threads.
  3. The fabric shall be installed from the face inside after framework is securely fastened to insure perfect horizontal and vertical grain alignment.
  4. The fabric pattern shall be matched on true.
  5. The fabric shall be removable and replaceable for changeability and to provide access to the surface behind the fabric.
  6. The framework shall not "read through" the fabric.
  7. An interlining shall be installed beneath the face fabric in the event a translucent fabric has been specified.

Submitting documents to the General Contractor

  1. Submit manufacturer's product specifications and such other data as may be required to show compliance with the Contract Documents.
  2. Submit in writing to the Owner, through the Architect, the manufacturer's dealer certification.
  3. Submit installation Dealer's five year Limited Warranty against defects in Fabric-Walls materials and workmanship.
  4. Installation dealer shall submit a list with a minimum of five (5) comparable installations.

Product Handling

  1. Store all materials off the ground and protected from dirt and dust of construction operations.
  2. Handle materials in a manner that will protect them from damage and soiling.
